24 Years of Service, a Vision for Tomorrow
It has been my privilege to serve on Springdale Town Council for the past 24 years and to currently serve as mayor. It has been an honor to work with citizens, council and staff. I am excited to continue "Working Hard for Springdale." My wife, children, and I have made Springdale our home. I would appreciate your continued support so that together we can work to make our town a place where families will want to live and work for generations to come.

About Me
I was born and raised right here locally in Springdale. With a neighbor's perspective, I not only understand, but have a deep appreciation for the values that the town is built upon. This is not only a town that I hold dear, it is a town that I have started a family in. In efforts to make Springdale a town that my family and neighbors can continue to thrive in, I have implemented core values in my mayorship.

Promises Made, Promises Kept
PAC Center
During my first term, the Lexington Two Performing Arts Center and district offices were built. This state of the art facility has already brought events such as concerts, performances, and celebrations to our town. We look forward to additional opportunities for the residents and businesses of Springdale.
Sidewalks Through Town
The updated and new sidewalks through Kitty Hawk Drive has made Springdale more walkable and family friendly. This project has connected all of the public schools to the town interior. We've also started engineering on another phase of sidewalks to connect our new neighborhood to the town's interior.
Playground Equipment
The playground at Felton C. Benton Park has been updated and playground equipment has been replaced and added. We look forward to expanding our current town facilities to include additional spaces for our community to meet and host events.
Summerfest
My daughter, Josie, wanted the town to have a fun event, so she proposed a golf cart parade. This event grew into Springdale's Summerfest. The event allows for fellowship within the community and is a widely anticipated event in town. Additionally, I encourage anyone to be forthcoming with any ideas that would better promote community involvement.
Christmas Tree Lighting
Many citizens look forward to this annual event. It is an opportunity to kick off the holiday season with hot chocolate, smores, and music by Springdale Elementary School's Chorus. There is even a visit from Santa! This is another opportunity for our community to come together and keep traditions alive.
Pond Owners Meeting
The Town of Springdale has seven ponds fed by Bear Branch. The spring that feeds these ponds stretches from the corner of Ermine and Old Barnwell Road to Highway 302. Because of this, there was a need to have an annual meeting of stakeholders of the ponds in our town. This allows an opportunity to bring in professionals who can offer opinions and guidance of pond management.
Sewer Expansion
Over the past four years, questionnaires were sent out to the remaining citizens who do not have access to sewer. Based on the feedback from the questionnaires we are working with a local engineering firm to discuss feasibility and cost. This information is being used to determine which phase should be considered next. Working with residents across town, I am collaborating with surrounding municipalities to bring a better sewer system to Springdale.
Neighborhood Cookouts
I have introduced multiple events for the community as a whole. Through these events, such as Summerfest and the community cookouts, I strive to help build a better community that is family friendly and brings people together.
Citizen's Academy
Council and staff has successfully implemented a citizens academy. The academy is comprised of how the town works, and the different roles that council, staff, and the community help one another to make Springdale a better place.
New Town Hall
Over the past four years the town successfully renovated an existing property to create a new town hall. We look forward to adding additional improvements to existing facilities to create a better community park.
Priorities For The Next Four Years
Grant Opportunities For Infrastructure And Town Facilities
Continue to seek potential grant monies to help fund various infrastructure projects and additional work to our town complex.
Growth
Carefully considering growth while preserving our established residences and businesses
Services
Maintain the highest level of services our town provides. For example, police department, sanitation, and parks.
